Like all Nimbus laser mastering systems, the Ultra Violet Laser Beam Recorder features a stationary optical path, frictionless air bearing, turntable and radial drive and a patented translation system. This proven technology gives track pitch stability of +/- 6nm (almost 5 times better than the DVD Specification).

The Nimbus Laser Beam Recorder is available in either pre-recorded or recordable format configurations. Switching between formats is made easy by the simple touch of a button.

Dual Beam Recorder

The Nimbus Universal Dual Beam Recorder can master all CD, DVD, Recordable and Re-writable formats. It uses an Ultra Violet laser guaranteeing the maximum performance needed to meet the challenge of new formats.

The critical features of the Dual Beam Recorder are a stationary optical path, frictionless air bearing, turntable and radial drive and a patented translation system. This proven technology gives track pitch stability of +/- 6nm (almost 5 times better than the DVD Specification).

The dual path configuration has two identical optical paths with the ability to modulate and deflect both beams independently, making switching between formats easy and allowing a wide choice of write strategy.

The internally damped optical bench offers enormous flexibility for incorporating additional components for mastering future formats and ensures easy access for upgrade purposes.

Pi Mastering System

Pi is Nimbus' integrated solution for pre-recorded CD and DVD mastering. Pi is a fully integrated, environmentally controlled system producing metallised glass masters from clean glass. An integrated system has the big advantage of minimising the need for expensive expert personnel. This allows smaller replication facilities the opportunity to buy in-house mastering capability as well as offering a very cost effective solution for bigger manufacturers looking to increase manufacturing capacity.

Pi systems can be delivered with any combination of CD, DVD or switchable CD/DVD recorders allowing complete flexibility for CD and DVD mastering. The inclusion of a switchable recorder into the portfolio provides a very affordable entry level for customers wishing to have CD and DVD mastering, but not needing the capacity which two recorders offer.
